DAWG holds adoption shows from 12 to 2:30
PM each Saturday throughout the year except for Christmas Eve/Day.
Please refer to the schedule below to confirm show location and times.
At least 15 dogs of all ages and sizes are presented at each adoption show. Consider our shows an opportunity for your entire family -- including your dog -- to meet and spend time with our dogs.
Your dog's "opinion" is so important that
home visits cannot be scheduled without the dogs meeting each other. If
your dog is shy, we will meet with you in an aisle or outside the store.
A good way to introduce dogs is to walk them side-by-side; otherwise,
please allow the dogs space and proceed as the handler instructs.
Please be aware that a DAWG dog may not
focus on your dog (or even you!) because of the
store's distractions...including our own dogs. DAWG dogs have their "dog
buddies" and like to play with them as well as work for treats. They
don't realize they have to "get serious" about meeting people and a
strange dog, when all they want is to party! So if the your dog and a
DAWG dog show no more than mild interest or even ignore each other while
walking or sitting calmly near each other, consider that a successful
introduction!
If you are interested in a specific DAWG dog, please apply in advance of an adoption show and allow at least 24 hours for DAWG to review your application: Adoption Application. Why apply beforehand? Applications that seem to be possible "matches" are prioritized when scheduling dogs for an upcoming show. Please note that applications are not binding, and that applications are NOT considered on a first come, first served basis, but on the best match between dog and applicant. To learn which dogs in general will be at an upcoming show, please email DAWG: dawg@dawg-rescue.org as of Friday afternoon before a show UNTIL 10 AM ON SATURDAY (two hours before the show commences). No emails will be answered from 10 AM until after the show. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE STORE FOR SHOW INFORMATION! Store personnel do not know which dogs will be attending a show. It is not the store's responsibility to search for a DAWG volunteer during an adoption show to answer a caller's questions. Thank you! Not sure that a show will occur if

dawg@dawg-rescue.org by 10 AM on Saturday, at which time a determination
will be made if "the show will go on" that day.
