Our Dewey is a DUDE! Yes, indeed, this once-chunky beagle wore his "love handles" well, but these days he is strutting a more svelte physique, now that he's in a foster home where he can romp with friends like Hobbs. However, it's Dewey's handsome face that first catches your attention, and then you realize how cuddly, sweet, mellow and charming he is!

There's just one catch with Dewey...he has a condition called "Cushing's Syndrome" which has been treated and is easily managed. Please check with your vet for more information, but basically Dewey's adrenal glands were over-producing cortisol, now stabilized through a medication called Lysodren. Dewey continues to be on a maintenance dose of the medication, and his blood work is perfect!

We realize not all adopters are willing to assume medication and occasional blood work expenses for a new dog, although most people realize it's only a matter of time before non-routine medical expenses "kick in." But if you think you are hooked on Dewey and don't mind putting your Starbuck's allowance toward Dewey's vet bills, be sure to inquire about him. Dewey's just too wonderful to dismiss!
