If we could encourage every new puppy and dog “parent” to attend one workshop, THE INS AND OUTS OF PUPPY & DOG SOCIALIZATION would be it. Improper socialization is one of the main reasons that fear, anxiety and aggression issues develop. There is a right and a wrong way to do it, but most of us make innocent mistakes that can have long-lasting consequences. The workshop is this Sat, July 10, 3:30 – 5:30pm at Potomac Community Center. Our final summer workshop, NUTRITION FOR YOUR DOG, on Sat, July 31, 2:00 - 4:00pm. is at the Wheaton Library. This would also be a great workshop for new puppy and dog "parents", those of you with older dogs, or anyone who just wants to know more about what's healthy and safe to feed the family dog(s). We still have room in DISC DOG! The class starts this Monday, July 12 at 7:30pm. This is an off-leash class for dogs that enjoy fetching (even if it’s not a perfect fetch); get along with other dogs; and can focus relatively well, even with the distraction of other dogs moving around off-leash. See what this fast growing sport is all about! But register soon! And don't forget about PLAY & GAMES FOR SMALL DOGS, four weeks starting Aug 7 & DOG TRAINING CAMP FOR KIDS (8-11 yr olds the first week of Aug, 12- 15 yr olds the second week, 9am - noon).
