Taxpayer dollars were used by Alaska governor to support aerial hunting by special interest groups of sport and trophy hunters.
The effort defeated Measure 2, an initiative that would have banned hunting wolves from airplanes for sport.
Palin organized a campaign against Measure 2 and funded it with $400,000 of state money. See article at http://www.alternet.org/election08/97207/sarah_palin's_big,_sleazy_safari
Back in March 2007, the Defenders of Wildlife, Alaska Wildlife Alliance, and the Alaska Chapter of the Sierra Club also weighed in on Gov. Palin's predator control policy and her adherence (or lack of) to the 1984 repeal of the Bounty Law: "The Governor is overstepping her
legal authority by offering cash payments for each wolf killed by aerial gunners," stated Tom Banks, Defenders of Wildlife's Alaska Association. "That's a bounty by anyone's standards regardless of what they call it."
Governor Palin's plan was to motivate people with permits to kill more wolves by offsetting their cost of aerial fuel. Palin announced the state would pay $150 for each wolf left foreleg returned to the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. Conservation groups also worried that the
$150 bounty was increase illegal wolf killing outside of the control area.

Politicians and special interest groups who have perverted the Ten Commandments are increasingly supporting actions, using tax dollars, to inflict cruel and unnecessary suffering upon animals -- and assaulting the natural resources given by God. The animals and natural world have no vote or voice, so if those of us who care stay silent, the brutality and hedonistic exploitation will accelerate.

See with your own eyes; don’t trust the charmed and bullied media:

The mainstream media including the Washington Post has even praised the conservative VP candidate for toughness in killing caribou. Other Dog Tip readers have mentioned photos of her bear-skin throw she displays in her office and other signs of her pride in hunting. Does that sound pro-life?
